Playful Kitties

I think sleeping in a nice little kitty bed and having some good food really helped them out... They were much more playful this morning than last night!

Our little Wickwire family has grown!!! x2

We have been talking about getting a new pet at the beginning of 2010 but have been very hesitant...BUT on a whim today, we've adopted 2 kittens!!!!

Someone found 6 kittens in a manhole on the property that Stephen's office building is on and offered them up to employees to keep from taking them to the animal shelter. I think Stephen sent me the e-mail originally just as a joke but as we talked about it, we talked ourselves right into one. Then the longer we talked, we figured we should probably get two so that they have a companion for all the time we are away from home...so now we have two.

Stephen went and got our two and brought them back to his desk this afternoon! I can't wait to meet them tonight! We'll be speding the evening at Petsmart stocking up on all the supplies (x2) you need for a kitten! I'm very nervous but sooooooo excited!!! I haven't had a pet since I was in my young teens!

Stephen said it's hard to tell but best he can tell one's a girl and one's a boy but we'll get it confirmed by a vet in the next day or so...just need to find a good one out in Mt. Juliet!

So for now, they don't have names but I'm already liking them a lot just from staring at their picture all afternoon!!

Goofing off!

We were just goofing off last night in Providence!! Isn't Stephen soooo handsome in this first picture!!!? :-)

OOOOOOHHHHH...He's soooo good lookin' to me!!!! I love him!!

Flower of the day - Gardenia

One of the houses we lived in (Sardis/White Oak, MS) when I was growing up had big gardenia bushes growing outside Momma and Daddy's bedroom window. The house had an attic fan in the hallway. I remember when they would raise the windows and turn the fan on that you could smell the fragrance of the gardenias pulling through...I don't know what my favorite flower is...BUT one of my favorite scents is of gardenias!

My friend Shannon has some dwarf gardenia bushes at her house and found a bloom this morning and picked it and brought it to me..."a happy to take you down memory's lane" she told me!

I loved it...I sat it right center and in between my keyboard and monitor today so I could see and smell it all day!

Carolyn's Birthday Party!

For Carolyn's birthday, we all went over to their house and had a delicious supper!! As you can see in the first pic below, (not that anyone is pregnant) Carolyn performed some crazy wives' tale trick to determine how many kids each couple would have and what sex they would be using a pencil and a piece of string... she's so silly - but always keeps us laughing!

Dinner with the Prathers

I must have lost my mind!!! The past two times we've been with the Prathers, I haven't gotten one picture of our sweet, sweet, precious Virginia! I promise to do that! She is soooo adorable...even when she is spilling Daddy's glass of Diet Pepsi all over his lap in Fulin's Asian Cuisine!

As always, we had sooo much fun with Stephen, Emily and Virginia! We just wish we could see them more than once a month! Can't wait till our August dinner night!
